Signed deal with Google to offer `Google Apps` as part of SK Telecom`s `T bizpoint`, an integrated business support platform for small and medium enterprises
`Google Apps` to be offered for wired and wireless use, optimized to Korea`s unique business environment
Seoul, Korea, 25 June 2010 – SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) today announced an agreement with Google to offer the Google Apps™ suite of communication and collaborations tools through ’T bizpoint’ – Officepack offering for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Korea.
’T bizpoint’, launched on June 8, is SK Telecom’s mobile and fixed one-stop business support solution for SMEs, developed to realize an effective working environment. Enterprise users can access and install ’T bizpoint’ services through a subscriber-based website: www.tbizpoint.co.kr.
’T bizpoint’- Officepack is to be one of the flagship products among the ’T bizpoint’ business solution line-up, providing mobile and fixed business support tools to enhance efficiency of small enterprises. The service will especially prove to be effective for SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) or single-person business owners who have to deal with their business even on the move and also for established SMEs.
With this combined offering, corporate users - especially small businesses which are hard to set up a business support system for their specific use, can now enjoy superb business tools without any infrastructure investment, experiencing a convenient remote working environment at a reasonable cost. With the innovative business tools offered by ’T bizpoint’ - Officepack, employees can enjoy various business applications such as email, instant messaging, calendar, contacts, to-do list, web page managements, e-report and e-documentation regardless of time and place.
Through the agreement, Google will be able to gain an effective channel for introducing the innovative Google Apps to Korean SMEs, while SK Telecom will be able to offer various packaged business solutions to SMEs in Korea. SK Telecom plans to offer additional customer service with Net Killer (www.netkiller.com), the official Google Apps partner in Korea, to ensure the best user experience and customer convenience for ’T bizpoint- Officepack’ users.
In the long run, SK Telecom aims to give Korean SMEs better access to a variety of advanced management support applications developed home and abroad, while creating a new business ecosystem in which domestic software developers can find and enjoy new sources of revenue.
