SK Telecom Shares Secrets of Success through Keynote Speech at Mobility World Congress and Exhibition

SK Telecom receives 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award for Innovation in Consumer Entertainment Services
(Hong Kong, 5 December 2007) - SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) Vice President of the Technology Innovation Center, Mr. Joseph Yoon (Yoon Seok Joong), today demonstrated how SKT is leading the mobile industry in Korea through development of new technologies.
Mr. Yoon’s keynote speech on "Innovating and Redefining Your Future Service Offering in the New Era of Convergence" at the Mobility World Congress in Hong Kong, addressed three main topics: The "Korean Mobile Market and SK Telecom", "Innovative Services and Technologies" and "New Business Opportunities".
Mr. Yoon also shared recent success stories of SK Telecom and gave attendees a glimpse into how new technologies and services such as T Interactive, Interoperability, 3D MyFACE, Micro Projector, Mobile UCC, Mobile Cyworld and Mobile Entertainment Services can deliver value for consumers and therefore for mobile operators.
Two very exciting and innovative technologies with great commercial benefit to the telecommunication industry illustrate the diversity of today’s value-added services for the consumer. The Micro Projector, a miniaturized personal projector, overcomes the size limitation of mobile devices display. The device is expected to be commercially available soon.
The other technology called "3D My Face Service" enables users to transform 2D images to 3D in less than five seconds and to even modify videos in real-time. The technology can be used to create avatars for games, video telephony, metaverse and other UCC purposes.
Mr. Yoon stated, "Building on our remarkable achievements to date, SK Telecom will continue to develop new services that can drive our future growth. We are committed to leveraging our successful experience in Korea to become a global convergence leader."
To enhance SK Telecom’s already growing status, the company also received the 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award for Consumer Entertainment Services for its Mobile Web service at an awards ceremony yesterday.
Representing SK Telecom at the awards ceremony, Mr. Yoon said, "We at SK Telecom are proud to be a part of the Mobility World Congress, presenting our success stories to the world. I am honored to receive this award on behalf of SK Telecom and I strongly believe that this award is proof of our commitment to innovation and our continuous efforts to meet consumer needs."
SK Telecom is highly recognized for its efforts to promote 3G CDMA, offering a wide range of differentiated services. One such service, Mobile Web, enables users to view and use PC-based websites on their mobile phones. The service clearly differentiates itself by enabling users to access wired websites from mobile phones, based on the various advanced web browsers developed by SK Telecom such as Embedded Full Browser, server-based Mobile Web Light and Web Viewer.
SK Telecom is no stranger to receiving CDG’s award recognition. Since 1998, when it won the "Overall Subscriber Growth Award," SK Telecom has been named as an award winner a total of seven times.
