The AnyFishing service offers anglers information about the location of a school of fish and the depth of water and water temperature. These are transmitted through supersonic waves in a mobile phone.
This service is creating great popularity among anglers enjoying the summer holiday season, and a five-day working system.
Seoul, Korea, 21 May 2007 - SK Telecom (CEO Shin Bae Kim, www.sktelecom.com) announced launching of the ‘AnyFishing’ service that is designed to offers anglers information about the location of a school of fish, depth of water and water temperature, through supersonic waves sent through a mobile phone. To use this service, anglers should launch into a river or sea, a radio transmitter in the form of a float. The transmitter detects the location of a school of fish, depth of water and water temperature, and sends the results to an RF receiver connected with a mobile phone. The results are displayed on the mobile phone screen in a graphic form.
In this regard, fishermen can enjoy fishing while watching the underwater situation, as if they were playing mobile games. The beginners will also have fun fishing due to accurate information about the location of a school of fish.
Anglers should operate the ‘AnyFishing’ Virtual Machine (VM) after connecting the RF receiver to the mobile phone. The fish detector set composed of radio transmitter and RF receiver can be purchased on ‘AnyFishing’ (www.anyfishing.co.kr), or in two SK Telecom authorized dealerships in Busan. It costs KRW120,000. In order to download the AnyFishing VM, anglers should access Nate (Entire Menu) > 9. Information > 6. life /idea /religion /Air > 8. Religion /ⓜLife/Other > 5. AnyFishing on their mobile phone. They can also press special number **005+Nate on mobile phone to download the VM. A KRW5,000 information use fee will be charged.
