A ceremony for the awarding of prizes took place at a win-win partnership meeting held in the Presidential House on November 22.
On the 22nd of December SK Telecom announced that the company received a presidential citation in the group awards in the categories of "Small, Medium, and Large-Sized Enterprises Cooperation". These awards were given in recognition of executions of win-win partnerships with small, medium, and large-sized enterprises. A ceremony for the awarding of the prizes took place at a win-win partnership meeting held in the Presidential House.
In addition, Bellwave, Witcom, and C&S Microwave, while functioning as SK Telecom’s business partners, received a commendation awarded by the Prime Minister, a prize given by the minister of Commerce Industry and Energy, and a prize awarded by the chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, respectively. These awards recognize SK Telecom’s ongoing efforts in establishing win-win partnerships with small, medium and large-sized enterprises that are aimed at cooperation in the marketing, research, and development areas.
Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom stated, "We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the awards. They are in recognition of our strong efforts over the last three years to narrow the gap between small, medium, and large-sized enterprises in the IT industry. These efforts are now bearing fruit. Today, all enterprises, regardless of size, must focus on reinforcing their competitive edge by helping each other. To this end, large-sized enterprises must continue to play a vital role in establishing systems and programs for win-win partnerships that lead to horizontal cooperative relationships with small and medium-sized enterprises."
At the meeting in the Presidential House, Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom, Sang Hwan Park, president of Witcom, and Dong Sue Lee, president of Panez, exchanged opinions about the results and achievements of win-win partnerships. Witcom is a venture company that commercialized the world’s first cellular ring back tone service in a joint effort with SK Telecom. Panez is the first beneficiary of the ’Partner Financing Support System’ established by SK Telecom in cooperation with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and Hana Bank.
SK Telecom launched a workgroup to develop win-win partnership management in July 2003. Since then, under the brand name ’Partner-On’, the company has been operating a variety of online training programs and forums designed to help its business partners increase their competitive-edge. Last October, in joint efforts with the Hana Bank and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, SK Telecom established a KRW 660 billion fund aimed at supporting small and medium-sized companies. In so doing, SK Telecom is actively carrying out a broad range of horizontal win-win business relationships designed to strengthen cooperative ties with its partners and associates, as well as bilaterally increasing corporate values.
Last November, SK Telecom had the honor of becoming the first winner of the group award in the category of ’Small, Medium and Large Enterprises Win-Win Partnerships’. This award is given by the Ministry of Information and Communication to model IT companies who develop win-win partnerships.
