SK Telecom Receives ’Win-Win Partnership Award for Small, Medium and Large, Enterprises’

SK Telecom was ranked first in the two evaluations of the execution of win-win partnership agreements by IT small, medium, and large enterprises in 2005.
This award was given to the company in recognition of its contributions to an increase in small and medium-sized companies’ competitive-edge, and the establishment of win-win partnerships between small, medium and large, enterprises.
SK Telecom announced on November 27, that the company was selected as a winner of a ’Win-Win Partnership Award for Small, Medium, and Large-sized Enterprises’. This award is given by the Ministry of Information and Communication to model IT companies who develop win-win partnerships.
The Win-Win Partnership Award was newly established in 2005 as a group award in the category of ’Small Medium and large Companies Information Communications Awards of the Year’ given by the Ministry of Information and Communication every year since 2000. SK Telecom has the honor of becoming a first winner of this particular award.
The Ministry revealed that SK Telecom was ranked top in the two evaluations of the execution of win-win partnership agreements among IT small, medium and large enterprises, reached with small and medium-sized IT venture companies and seven facility-based telecommunications operators last April. SK Telecom won this award in recognition of contributions to an increase in the small and medium-sized companies’ competitive-edge by providing a ’Partner-On Program’, and the establishment of win-win partnerships between small, medium, and large enterprises.
Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom commented, "We are pleased that our efforts and achievement toward win-win partnership management have been fully recognized. We will continue to enhance training programs necessary for increasing the basic competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies. To serve this end, efforts will be made to move in a systematic manner to create a continuous cycle of beneficial results from win-win partnerships in the entire IT industry".
A ceremony for the awarding of prizes will take place in the Renaissance Seoul Hotel on November 28th as part of an opening ceremony of ’IT SMERP 2005’ which is under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Communication. About 300 politicians, government officials, and private enterprisers will participate in the ceremony. These include Hae Bong Lee, congressman and chairman of the Science Technology Committee in the National Assembly, and Daeje Chin, minister of Information and Communication.
SK Telecom launched a workforce to develop win-win partnership management in July 2003. Since then, under the brand name ’Partner-On’ the company has been operating a variety of online training programs and forums, with the objective of helping its business partners increase their competitive-edge. In addition, in joint efforts with the Hana Bank and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund last October, SK Telecom established a KRW 660 billion fund to support small and medium-sized companies. In so doing, SK Telecom is actively carrying out a broad range of horizontal win-win business relationships designed to strengthen cooperative ties with its partners and associates, as well as bilaterally increasing corporate values.
