Shin Bae Kim, President of SK Telecom, Carries out Non-governmental Diplomacy Activities in the Field of Information Technology

He will stress ’SK Telecom’s role and the importance of IT cooperation between Korea and China’
President Kim will also present a cooperation plan for the IT industry in the development of the regional and national economies
Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom, will carry out non-governmental diplomatic activities in the field of information technology by participating in the APEC CEO Summit 2005 that will take place for three days in Busan, starting on November 17th.
President Kim will participate in a discussion session on the Implications of China’s Economic Growth on the Economies of the Asia-Pacific Region. In the session, he will stress ’the importance of the IT industry in the development of the regional and national economies and SK Telecom’s role in fostering IT cooperation between Korea and China’. He will also present a cooperation plan for the IT industry in developing the regional and national economy.
After delivering the five minute speech, president Kim will have an active discussion with John Chen, chairman of Cybase, and Frank Appel, the president of DHL. This session will be hosted by Victor Fung, chairman of the Lee & Fung Group.
The APEC CEO Summit is the largest business forum in the Asia Pacific region that takes place during the APEC Summit Talks every year. The representatives of business enterprises present a variety of subjects, and have discussions regarding co-prosperity and stabilization of the world’s politics and economy, in the forum.
About 800 high-ranking officers of private enterprises will participate in this CEO Summit, and exchange opinions on the subject of ’Entrepreneurship and Prosperity building a Successful Partnership in the Asia-Pacific Region’.
