Hanshin University Team vs Korea National Sport University Team, and Seoul Vision Team and Recomefreewings Team are shown playing an opening game on September 9th (The `2005 SK Telecom Cup National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament` hosted by SK Telecom and sponsored by the Korea Wheelchair Basketball Federation, will take place in the Jamsil Student Gymnasium for four days, from September 9th to 12th).

The ’2005 SK Telecom Cup National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament’ hosted by SK Telecom and sponsored by the Korea Wheelchair Basketball Federation, will take place in the Jamsil Student Gymnasium for four days, from September 9th to 12th.
The wheelchair basketball tournament has become very popular both at home and abroad. The tournament was first launched in 1997 in Korea, and SK Telecom started hosting the tournament in 2002 (the 6th tournament). The 9th tournament is being played this year.
A total of 19 teams nationwide will compete in the tournament. There are 13 teams of physically challenged people, and 4 teams of non-physically challenged people. The final match will take place on September 12th after three-days of preliminary matches. The most likely winner of the championship is the ’Neomaier Team (formerly ’Longevity Team’)’ that won the tournament last year.
SK Telecom plans to offer a variety of special events In the tournament that are designed to draw the interest and attention of non-physically challenged people, as well as physically challenged people. These include an autograph session by the SK Knights professional basketball team players, and free throw and 3 point shoot competitions between physically challenged players and SK Knights players. Furthermore, the company will hold varied gift donation events that will award MP3 players, mountain bicycles, T-shirts, etc. by the drawing of lots.
Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom commented, "We are pleased that this tournament provides an opportunity to demonstrate that physical disabilities should never be allowed to effect physical capabilities. All the players will do their best to fully display the abilities they have been cultivating for a long time".
