On April 29th SK Telecom held a ceremony honoring the donation of 700 computers to civil associations. This donation took place with the object of making use of unused resources and supporting the social welfare activities of civil associations under the ’Sharing Computers’ campaign.

The ’Sharing Computers’ campaign is a social welfare program backed by business entities and social welfare foundations. It was first proposed by Seung Hee You, congresswoman of The Uri Party. This campaign is designed to support the office activities of citizen associations operating with low budgets and volunteer workers. It also has the purpose of recycling the unused resources that occur whenever business entities change to new computers for their own business uses.

The donated computers will be delivered to the Civil Solidarity Council, Korea Foundation for Women, Korea Green Foundation, etc. Any social welfare foundation or civil association who wants to receive the unused computers offered by business entities can apply to the Civil Solidarity Council homepage (www.civilnet.net), starting on April 29th.

The participants in the ceremony of computer delivery were: Seung Hee You, congresswoman of The Uri Party, Joong Rae Cho, head of SK Telecom’s PR Office, Hyung Hee Lee, head of SK Telecom’s CR Strategy Office, Sang Jeong Park and Kang Hyun Lee, joint presidents of the Civil Solidarity Council, Kyung Hee Kang, secretary general of the Korea Foundation for Women, and Mee Kyung Lee, director of the Korea Green Foundation.
