President of SK Telecom Receives the ’Asia Meritorious Award of The Year for Satellite Service’

He received this award in recognition of the successful launching of the world’s first satellite for DMB service.
On September 3rd, Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom, received the ’Asia Meritorious Award of the Year for Satellite Service’ from the Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC).
President Kim received this award jointly with Tetsuya Mizoguchi, president of Japan’s MBCo. This was in recognition of the successful launching of the world’s first satellite for mobile multimedia broadcasting (DMB) service.
This award is designed to reward private enterprisers for their meritorious service in Asia’s satellite industry. It is given on the recommendation of the APSCC’s Recommendation committee consisting of important satellite-concerned people in 32 countries around the world.
The APSCC is a nonprofit international organization established in 1992 to promote progress in the satellite industry in the Asia Pacific region. This organization assumes the responsibility for providing satellite communications-related education programs, international conferences, and expositions.
