SK Telecom Exceeds Ten Millions US Dollars in Export Sales of Call Ring (so called Coloring) Service Solution

Actively explores international markets in cooperation with domestic venture companies that own world-class technological expertise
Export volume of the popular SK Telecom Coloring Service, which is a value-added service for call connection bell sounds, exceeds ten million dollars.
On July 27, SK Telecom announced that the company reached an agreement with Telkomsel, Indonesia’s largest mobile communication operator, for exporting Coloring Service solution that is worth about 1.5 million dollars. As a result, the total export amount of the solution has now surpassed 10 million dollars.
SK Telecom has been constantly exploring overseas markets with its Coloring Service solution and system. It started by exporting 1.7 million worth of the solution to S-Telecom of Vietnam in April 2003. The company next supplied 3 million worth of the solution to Mobile-1 and SingTel of Singapore in June of 2003.It is noteworthy that Smart of the Philippines signed a 1.5 million Call Ring (Coloring) Solution contract with SK Telecom in December of 2003, then executed an additional contract for 3 million worth of the solution in March of this year. These results are due to the explosive popularity of the Coloring Service in the Philippines.
Sung Chul Hong, vice-president and head of SK Telecom’s Global Business Division commented, "Exceeding ten million dollars in Call Ring (Coloring) Service solution’s export volume has a great significance because this has become another new business model for a domestic mobile communication operator to exploit international markets. Previously, we have supplied wireless Internet platform and network consulting service to overseas markets. Through the export of wireless Internet platforms and Coloring Service solutions and systems, SK Telecom can actively explore international markets in cooperation with domestic venture companies that own world-class technological expertise. We plan to continue to build model partnerships with those companies in order to actively advance into overseas marketplaces, as well as to accelerate the development of the domestic industry".
SK Telecom will keep developing new product and service packages for overseas markets together with already popular value-added services in Korea such as the Message Call Service. In addition, the company plans to strive to reach export contracts in regions other than the Southeast Asian regions. This includes such regions as the US, Latin America, and the Middle East.
