The Exposition was held by the Government Innovation and Decentralization Committee (led by Sung Sik Yoon). In the exposition, the company showcased competitive cutting edge Korean information technology that has formed our image as an IT leader. SK Telecom showcased Digital Home service, the world’s first satellite DMB service that is being prepared for launching, and MONETA, a combined telecommunication and finance service.
In addition, the company presented a seminar on civil affairs and public facility management services. These included such services as wireless network-based M-Government, parking lot management via PDA, street lamp control, and policemen’s wireless information inquiry. SK Telecom was shown to be contributing to the enhancement of electronic government’s work efficiency by furnishing mobile information communication technology.
Young Chul Shin, head of SK Telecom’s PR Office, commented "In the exposition, SK Telecom has fully demonstrated its role as a company that contributes greatly to strengthening our national competitiveness through the development of cutting edge information technology."
In the International Exposition for Government Innovation, excellent examples of electronic government administration innovations were introduced and demonstrated. Participants were: 44 domestic government institutions, 20 international government institutions, and 10 private enterprises that includes SK C&C, LG CNS, Samsung SDS, etc.
