Supports the Salvation Army’s food offering activities to homeless people
SK Telecom donated an ’Emergency Food Delivery Vehicle’ to the Salvation Army (Commander: Sung Hwan Kang) on the 14th of July. This vehicle is a 3.5 ton cargo truck that was rebuilt to enable the furnishing of food supplies and dining. The Salvation Army will use this vehicle to supply free food to homeless people.
The Salvation Army has shown deep interest in the problem of unemployed homeless people and the large-scale unemployment caused by the IMF bailout. The Salvation Army has been operating four facilities that accommodate homeless people in Seoul.
With this vehicle, the Salvation Army plans to carry out a variety of community relations activities in addition to the emergency food offering. This would include emergency rescue activities when a disaster occurs.
