Jong Hyuk Ree, Vice-president of the Choson Asia Pacific Peace Commission, Visits SK Telecom.

SK Telecom announced that a North Korean delegation headed by Jong Hyuk Ree, vice-president of the Choson Asia Pacific Peace Commission, visited SK Telecom’s Network Research Center in Boondang, and showed great interest in the development of the Korean mobile communications industry. The North Korean delegation consisted of a total of seven members.
In order to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the 6.15 South and North Korean Joint Declaration, the Kim Dae Jung Library, the Korea Institute for National Unification At Yonsei University, and the North Korea Institute for National Unification, jointly held an International Forum for three days starting on the 14th of June. This forum is designed to evaluate the significance of the 6.15 South and North Korean Joint Declaration. The North Korean delegation visited SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics after participating in the forum.
In the Network Research Center, an SK Telecom representative explained to the delegation the current status of mobile communications services, including the satellite DMB business. They were also allowed to directly experience NATE, June, and MONETA services.
Participants in the SK Telecom meeting were seven North Korean delegation members that included Jong Hyuk Ree, vice-president of the Choson Asia Pacific Peace Commission, Dong Yeon Won, director of the Choson Asia Pacific Peace Commission and deputy-director of North Korean Institute for National Unification, Young Chul Park, deputy-director of the Choson Unification Research Institute, and Chul Byum Park, secretary of the Choson Unification Research Institute. Jung Nam Cho, vice-chairman of SK Telecom, received and welcomed vice-president Ree and his delegation.
