Designed to cultivate people’s thinking toward actively participating in volunteer work.
On May 18th, SK Telecom announced the opening of the Volunteer Portal Site (http://volunteer.sktelecom.com). This site is designed to encourage the spirit of volunteerism throughout the nation.
The ’Volunteer Portal Site’ offers information about SK Telecom’s volunteer social contribution-related programs. These include the SK Telecom community relations group that sponsors and forms a relationship with disadvantaged youth, an economy instructor (Junior Achievement) Program, a customer volunteer group called "Sunny", and the university student volunteer campaign, among others. In addition, this site will stay focused on encouraging people to participate in a variety of volunteer programs.
In addition, the site plays a role as a smooth communication channel by providing a wide range of beneficial information that helps volunteers carry out their work more effectively.
Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom commented, "We hope the Volunteer Portal Site will provide an opportunity to firmly plant the spirit of volunteerism into our society, and encourage people to voluntarily participate in community relation activities".
As an opening activity of the Volunteer Portal Site, SK Telecom offers university students a volunteer enrollment opportunity until May 20th. Any university student in Korea can apply for an enrollment. The selected students will receive volunteer support funds, and have an opportunity to do volunteer work in foreign countries.
