Press Release
SK Telecom has developed the Wireless VISA Click Service in a joint effort with VISA KOREA and INNOTG.
The development of the wired and wireless VISA Click Service is now complete.
On April 26th SK Telecom announced that the company has completed the development of a Wireless VISA Click Service. This was accomplished through a joint effort with VISA KOREA (www.visa-asia.com), and INNOTG (www.innotg.com).
The Wireless VISA Click Service is based on an authentication technology that connects the VISA Secure Payment System (VISA 3D Secure) with the SK Telecom wireless network. This service approves credit card payments provided the card user gets an authentication. This prevents wireless shopping purchase payments by someone using the credit card of another person. This gives increased credibility and security to wireless e-Payment users.
Unlike existing e-Payment methods that require a password and credit card number, this service facilitates an excellent user-friendly payment method with enhanced security. The Wireless VISA Click Service is now facilitated through a simple authentication number.
Jin Seok Cha, vice-president and head of SK Telecom’s MONETA Business Division, commented "SK Telecom has been striving to develop this technology in order to respond to customer demand for a more convenient and secure wireless payment service. We expect that the "Wireless VISA Click Service" will greatly contribute to customer satisfaction, as well as create a boom in the mobile commerce market".
Customers can download the service specifications from the SK Telecom MONETA e-payment homepage (http://epay.moneta.co.kr). They can also receive technological support from INNOTG.
