Two Thousand Won Per Every New Subscriber
SK Telecom, widely known for its charity for the teenage family supporters, began a new campaign to help the disadvantaged teenagers who are suffering in the aftermath of the IMF bailout, joining hands with the Chosun Daily and Samsung Electronics Company (SEC).
For one month, from October 14 through November 13, SK Telecom is to save 2,000 won every time a new subscriber signs up for its cellular services on the Samsung digital handset and use the accumulated money for the financially distressed teenagers. The company already decided to use the money to feed the children of the unemployed first. It says that the further usage of the money will be decided through a survey of the customers and the beneficiary throughout the campaign period. A company official says that the company wishes that the money will be spent where it is needed most.
SK Telecom has been very active in helping the teenage family supporters through such campaigns as ?onate Your Beepers? ?ring the 10-won Coins? ?rite a Letter to Your Family?and ?e a Sponsor of the Teenage Family Supporters? The company also sponsored the free orthopedic surgery for the Vietnamese children with congenital deformity.
