SK Telecom has revealed a variety of new beneficial service programs for its customers in preparation for the introduction of the Mobile Number Portability system, and the 010 cellular prefix number.
The company plans to offer more innovative service products to its SPEED 011 customers, as well as 010 customers who subscribe to its cellular service starting next year. This program not only enhances the competitiveness of existing service products, but also aims to constantly promote a new subscription base.
An SK Telecom official revealed that mobile phone service providers will be in harsh competition prior to the introduction of Mobile Number Portability systems early next year. This competition will eventually result in increased consumer benefits.
The new service programs that SK Telecom will introduce starting on the 8th of December, are * Increased benefits of membership service * Launching of new cyber privilege programs * Offering of Lettering Service (Value-added Service) free of charge * Establishing new Rainbow Programs * Strengthening of call quality service * Launching a new Five Day Events each month. The specific content of these 6 programs are as follows:
O Increased benefits of membership service:
SK Telecom membership cardholders (5 cards) are now allowed to enjoy major membership services, regardless of their membership service types. Further, SK Telecom will continue to add new membership-affiliated stores, thereby expanding the range of customers’ choice. The company currently offers about 10,000 membership-affiliated stores for the benefit of its cardholders.
SK Telecom has enhanced existing membership services as follows: SK Gas Station (Reserving 3% of Cashbag Points), Family Marts (20% discount), Everland/Caribbean Bay (50% discount). Moreover, the company has expanded customer benefits by offering to all membership cardholders nationwide, discount services in 8 family restaurants, 120 movie theaters, and 1,800 bakeries.
In order to issue membership cards without delay, SK Telecom operates 312 offices throughout the country. These include 52 branch offices, 14 TTL Zones, and 246 authorized exclusive dealer offices.
O The launching of the new cyber privilege programs:
SK Telecom has formed an affiliation with 3 popular web sites that lets customers use the popular content of the 3 web sites, free of charge.
The company offers a total of 7 packages that include movies, Karaoke, AOD, Cartoons, etc. to over 40 thousand regular members in 5 SK Telecom brands (TTL, ting, UTO, Cara, and Leaders Club) each month. The packages were originally provided by post-portal NATE.com (www.nate.com). SK Telecom also furnishes 1.3 million in cyber money provided by Cyworld (www.cyworld.com), to 66,700 subscribers to the TTL and ting brands.
In addition, SK Telecom provides 7 kinds of pay games, and 70 game items each month , on the game site called Netmarble (www.netmarble.net). This service is given to 170 thousand subscribers to the ting brand, free of charge. They are also allowed to use a variety of movies and education content at a 50% discounted price.
O Offering of Lettering Service (Value-added Service), free of charge:
Starting on the 8th of December, SK Telecom will offer the Lettering Service to both existing and new subscribers, free of charge. Previously, customers had to pay 900 won per month to use this value-added service.
The Lettering Service allows callers to display their nickname, or specially-designated name, on the receivers’ cellular screen, whenever 011/017 and 010 customers make calls to each other. Currently about 1.1 million subscribers are using this service.
O Establishing of New Rainbow Program Section:
SK Telecom recently established an exclusive space for customer service called the Rainbow Program Section, in the 52 branch offices nationwide. SK Telecom customers can recharge their cellular phones, decorate their handsets, check on their holdings, and make varied inquiries about services and events, in the Rainbow Program Section.
O Strengthening of call quality service:
SK Telecom customers can make inquiries about call quality 24 hours a day, as of December of this year. Upon receiving any kind of customer complaint about a call connection, over 800 SK Telecom Speed Patrol staff stand ready to immediately visit the region of poor call quality, and solve the problem within 48 hours.
A 24 hour call quality consulting service is furnished through cellular call number 114 (free from call charge) or 1566-0011 (pay call charge).
O New Launching of Five Day Event Each Month:
SK Telecom launches Rainbow Day Events starting in December. ALL SK Telecom membership cardholders, or web-coupon holders, can get a 40~50% discount at Park Seung Chul hair shops, Dominos Pizza, and family restaurants nationwide (Outback Steak House, Beniguns, Marche, Fresco, and Benechia) on the 10th, 11th, or 17th of each month, when it corresponds to their cellular prefix number (010,011,and 017).
In addition, TTL cardholders can enjoy movies free of charge in the 29 cinemas (Megabox, CGV, Lotte Cinema, etc.) nationwide, on the 20th and 21st of each month.
