The Prime Minister and his delegation toured the SK Telecom PR Center in Boondang City after having met with Kil Seung Son, chairman and CEO of SK Telecom and Jung Nam Cho, vice-chairman of SK Telecom.
On the 17th of September, SK Telecom announced that Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and his delegation visited the company and had a meeting with SK Telecom executives that included Kil Seung Son, chairman and CEO. They also visited the company’s PR Center in Boondang City, and observed space-age mobile communication services such as 3rd generation multimedia services and mobile commerce services.
The fifteen high-ranking Vietnamese participants in this event included Do Trung Ta, Minister of Telecommunication, and Nguyen Sinh Hung, Minister of Finance. The nine participating SK Telecom executives included Kil Seung Son, chairman and CEO and Jung Nam Cho, vice-chairman.
Chairman Son said in his welcoming speech, "SK Telecom will provide the world’s best level of telecom services through ’? Fone’, which is a joint venture company for Korea and Vietnam. This will help Vietnamese companies secure global competitiveness."
"I hope the Vietnamese government will implement a variety of foreign investment promotion policies designed to accelerate the development of the Vietnamese telecom industry.", he added.
The Vietnamese delegation visited Korea on September 15th on the invitation of Keun Ko, the Korean Prime Minister. They will hold ’Vietnam Investment Briefing Sessions’ in the metropolitan area, and in Busan. In addition, they are scheduled to have meetings with the President, the Prime Minister, and the National Assembly Speaker, of Korea.
They are also scheduled to visit several major Korean companies. The delegation departs from Korea on the 19th of September.
