Make online transaction payments through your cellular phone by using Moneta
Provides more efficiency and safety without the inconvenience of inputting a credit card number
Online payment function that is completely linked offline, becomes the perfect type of mobile transaction payment system. Currently Moneta Online Payment Service is provided at 6 sites, but it will be expanded to at least 100 sites during this year.
On the 12th of August, SK Telecom launched a mobile transaction payment service called ’Moneta’. This system uses an installed IC chip (Smart Chip) in a cellular phone that can be used online as well as offline.
The previous Moneta service used the transaction payment method that sends IrFM or RF from offline to an exclusive Moneta receiver. The current Moneta Online Service allows the sending of credit card information for online transaction payments through the wireless Internet.
Whenever a Moneta service customer chooses Moneta as the transaction payment method at an online shopping mall, an SMS of the transaction payment request is sent to the customer’s device, then the customer simply presses the ’Connection’ button to link to the Moneta Online Payment system and then inputs the password. By doing this, the transaction payment service is completed and an SMS is sent to the customer to confirm the success of the payment.
Moneta Online Payment Service can completely protect against the theft or misuse of credit card information which can be a serious problem with other online transactions that require direct input of your credit card number on the Internet. Instead of directly inputting your credit card number, Moneta Online Payment service lets you simply input the cellular number, personal ID number, or Moneta Password. Moneta Online Service will let customers enjoy convenient and efficient transaction payment services, entirely free of worries about safety.
Jin Seuk Cha, head of SK Telecom’s m-Finance Division commented, "Now we are able to provide online transaction payment services, that conform to existing offline services, through Moneta. Surely Moneta Online Payment Service will become the perfect mobile transaction payment service that is completely compatible with offline transaction payment services."
Currently SK Telecom is offering this service in 6 Internet sites including Electour (www.electour.co.kr) and Hansflow (www.hansflower.com), and has a progressive plan to provide this service more widely by affiliating and linking it with 100 online sites, including the major internet shopping malls such as Paxnet (www.paxnet.co.kr), NATE (www.nate.com) and Maxmovie (www.maxmovie.com) by the end of this year.
