011/017 customers can choose any membership service they want, regardless of service rate plan, beginning in the 1st of June.
SK Telecom opened the popular membership services (movie theaters, family restaurants, etc.) to every 011/017 membership cardholder.
All membership cards will be equally segmented into 4 grades and the annual limit of discount benefit will be applied to each grade.
SK Telecom announced that the company improved 5 membership services to make them more practical, and will be launching them starting on the 1st of June 2003. These services are Ting, TTL, UTO, CARA, and Leaders Club.
According to the data on membership services used during the year 2002, a 90% membership cardholder enjoyed discount benefits at movie theaters, family restaurants, and amusement parks. In this regard, the company opened these popular services to every 011/017 membership cardholder, so they could enjoy more practical benefits.
As a result, every SK Telecom membership cardholder can receive a 1,500 won discount from 70 major movie theaters nationwide. This includes includes Megabox, CGV, Lotte Cinema, etc., regardless of the type of membership card. VIP members can use these movie theaters free of charge up to 6 times a year.
In addition, the cardholders get 20% discounts from family restaurants like Bennigan’s, Outback Steakhouse, Marche, Skyrock, VIPS, and Venezia among others.
They can also enjoy a 50% discount on day passes for rides in Lotte World, 50% discount on day passes for rides or free entrance in Seoulland or provincial amusement parks, and 30% discount on entrance fee to COEX Aquarium.
At the same time, they can get a 20% discount on the charges for Domino Pizza, and at bakeries like Paris Baguette (UTO/CARA/ Leaders Club) and Crown Bakery (ting /TTL). VIP members get a 40% discount on the charges in the above stores.
In addition, all members receive an accumulating monthly benefit of 1% of their monthly cellular phone bill as OK Cashbag Points.
SK Telecom also offers a wide range of membership services that consider a members’ age, lifestyle and gender. These services provide discount benefits on the charges in fast food restaurants, automobile repair shops, condominiums, beauty shops, department stores, home-shopping, PC game rooms, study rooms, language learning institutes, etc. The main content of the changed membership services can be summarized as follows: Change of membership subscription criteria, expansion of common membership service, segmentation of membership grade, annual discount limit on each membership grade, etc.
Until May of this year, the subscription membership was determined in accordance with the rate plan of the service (ting, TTL, UTO, CARA, and Leaders Club) the customer uses.
However, customers can choose any membership service they want, regardless of service rate plan, beginning in June (exception is CARA membership service, in which only women can subscribe.).
The membership grades will also be changed. All membership cards will be equally segmented into 4 grades (VIP, Gold, Sliver, and General) starting in June of this year.
Existing membership cards were divided into 2 grades (VIP, General) or 3 grades (VIP, Gold, General). In this segmentation of membership grades, VIP members are able to get annual discount benefits up to 100,000 points. Gold members can get discounts up to 70,000 points.
Further, Silver and General members are allowed to enjoy discount benefits up to 50,000 and 30,000 points respectively.
The change of membership grades will start in June, so the applicable period for scoring points for discount benefits is 7 months this year.
For the benefit of customers who have not subscribed to membership services, SK Telecom will accumulate 1,000 Call Plus Points (mileage) in the accounts of non-member customers, while the company deducts 2,000 Call Plus Points (mileage) from the accounts of member customers when they use the Leaders Club Lounge at Incheon International Airport, or use TTL Zones which are opened exclusively for member customers. 500 Call Plus Points will be deducted for each one-time use.
Member customers can enjoy new membership benefits with their existing membership cards. In particular, the customers who use ’Moneta’, mobile payment service, are allowed to get new membership benefits by showing their handset to card reading devices.
That is to say, Moneta service users do not need to carry membership cards because their handsets already have new membership information in them.
