Global center provides 24 hour support in 13 languages
Iridium Korea(President Jung L. Mok) opened Iridium Customer Care Center at SK Telecom head office prior to commencement of commercial services in September. By combining satellite communication that makes use of 66 satellites with cellular phone technology, Iridium Korea plans to provide top-notch satellite cellular phone services. Iridium project has two tiers of customer support-three Global Customer Care Centers are located in Florida U.S.A., the Netherlands and Sidney, Australia. And each participating nations of the Iridium project has own Iridium Customer Care Center. Global Customer Care Center serves as hub of customer support and handle questions regarding Pricing, terminal repairs & A/S from overseas customers. It provides around the clock services in thirteen languages including English, Korean and Japanese. When Iridium Customer Care Center cannot handle incoming calls, callers are automatically transferred to Global Center and will be assisted in their mother tongue.
With two complementary systems working in sync, Iridium customers can get support they need in native language regardless of time and location.
Iridium Korea expects many calls to come from overseas customers since Iridium is GMPCS service and plans to cooperate closely with Iridium LLC Headquarters in the U.S.A in order to be able to make prompt decisions for better customer services.
