Expanding roaming service rental booths at Incheon and Gimhae International Airports and major downtown areas of Busan
SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com), as an official partner of the Busan Asian Games, is providing a full scale expansion of international roaming services for the convenience of foreign visitors and customers.
To provide superior and efficient roaming service for overseas customers, the company will furnish 6,000 English/Chinese supporting cellular phones, 1,000 English/Chinese/Japanese supporting phones, and 10 service consultants who can provide service in Chinese and Japanese at the roaming service booths in Incheon and Gimhae International Airports. SK Telecom is also opening new Chinese and Japanese ARS service counters at the Automatic Roaming Service Center.
In the prior Asian Games, SK Telecom conducted a cellular phone rental service for the athletic and press groups through the homepage (http://www.busanasiangames.org/) of the Busan Asian Game Organization Committee. The company also set up temporary rental booths at the athletic villages, main media center, and in three main downtown areas of Busan, so customers could use the service easily and conveniently.
Notably, China Mobile and China Unicom, the first and second ranked mobile communication operators in China, each sent 6-7 employees to SK Telecom to assist in providing services in Chinese.
By the time the Busan Asian Games open, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong will be provided roaming service. In addition SK Telecom will start semi-automatic roaming service with GSM providers in six countries (Macao, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Katar and Khajahstan to allow customers in these countries to receive convenient cellular phone services while they are in Korea. They can use their own cellular phone numbers in their countries while renting these exclusive phones.
Moreover, SK Telecom will give a variety of valuable services such as SMS Asian Game news, event announcements, and helpful tourist information, to the roaming phone rental customers. They will also be provided international roaming manual booklets. 15 thousand booklets in English, 10,000 in Japanese, and 5,000 in Chinese, will be available for foreigners using the roaming service.
