SK Telecom, as the official partner of the Asian Games, started full scale marketing for the 14th Busan Asian Games four days before the opening ceremony, and is now counting down toward D-day. Through this comprehensive marketing, we will capture millions of customers nationwide, as well as 3.7 billion Asians who will be focusing their attention and interest on the biggest event in Asia.



SK Telecom announced the carrying out of all kinds of useful and exciting services and events during the 16 days of the Asian Games that start on the 29th of September.

For the first time in the game’s history, the highlights of the games will be broadcast as streaming video images by NATE SKT wireless Internet. This is the perfect opportunity for the company to make the whole world understand that SK Telecom is a highly advanced world-class information communication company.



SK Telecom provides this streaming video service through IMT-2000(1X EV-DO) which we

commercialized for the first time in the world. Through your cellular phone, you can conveniently enjoy the Asian Games that will be produced in the following formats:

? Collections of game highlights in streaming video
? Streaming video profiles of gold medalists.

Asian Game content delivered by the packet method will be charged 1.3 won per 1 packet(512 Byte). This is approximately 3,000 won per minute in addition to the information use fee. The company will also provide other real time services such as total medal counts, official music of the Asian Games, and a series of the most unforgettable scenes in the Asian Games’ history. These are all in addition to the main streaming video content.



? Operating the "Asian Games Call Quality Charge Squad" to Provide and Maintain the Best Call Quality. With the expectation that 1.6 million people will attend the Asian Games, the company will operate an "Asian Games Call Quality Charge Squad" which will put forth its best efforts to maintain the best call quality. To accomplish this, the company has increased base station channels at the 43 stadiums. It has also installed base stations and fiber optic repeaters in 20 main areas to prepare for the increased call volume. SK Telecom will present IMT-2000-based Internet services, such as VOD service and video phones, and put on trial performances of the next generation Internet service while participating in "IT Expo Korea 2002" that will be held in Busan (BEXCO) for 5 days beginning October 2nd.



? Cheering for The 43 Participating Nations through The "Support by Busan Citizen Group"

The "Asian Game Support by Busan Citizens" was formed by 40 thousand Busan citizen volunteers as a "cheering team" to fulfill the role of inspiration, affection, friendship and passion by cheering for the teams of all 43 participant countries. SK Telecom will be actively involved in supporting this cheering team with many cooperative efforts, such as providing cheering team uniforms. ? Conducting Street Cheering Parades in The Major Areas of Busan SK Telecom plans to have Street Cheering Parades in the major areas of Busan, and fit them in with the schedules of Korean Soccer Team game days. These will be the most sought after and highlighted events of the Busan Asian Games.

SK Telecom will build and operate 3 fixed promotion booths and 3 mobile promotion booths that are fully equipped with many kinds of high technology equipment. In these booths trial performance of cutting-edge technology, and services for the national and foreign visitors, athletes, and press reporters, will be offered at the stadiums, athletes villages, BEXCO, and the Lotte Hotel.

The promotion booths will be established at 11 stadiums, athletics’ villages, BEXCO and the Lotte Hotel, where a high density of floating population gather. They will provide the following services:

? Translation and electronic transmission services
? Demonstration of Korean Traditional Plays
? Free massage and nail art service.



? Providing Global Service to Serve Foreign Visitors

SK Telecom will introduce next generation IT technology that provides excellent services to foreign visitors.
