For the first time in the nation, users can take photos with a cellular phone and instantly request printing.
"Take photos with your cellular phone and send them to us, we will develop print and send them back to you!" SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced the start of the Mobile Development and Printing Service on the 22nd of August. For the first time in our nation this service will print photos taken by cellular phone and deliver them by mail.
Until now, the technology and services available for the cellular phone photos, merely allowed sending the photos to other people or saving them on the screen. However, an increasing number of camera installed cellular phone users made this service of printing mobile photos much needed and in demand.
The customers who use the Mobile Printing Service first send the photos by cellular phone by pressing *4700. After arriving at SMS in a short time, they can see the actual photos by pressing the call button, and then they can also create all kinds of photo effects through the "NATE Photo Printing Service" menu. After doing this, the final step is to apply for the printing service.
The functions of photo creating are possible with both black and white and color with "outstanding, slim, or volume effect" outline border changes and frame functions. These functions enable the printing out of mobile photos possessing the same effects as off-line photos.
The photos for the service can be printed 8 to 12 photos on a photographic paper size 4X6, or 2 to 4 photos on photographic paper the size of a name card. The photos are delivered to the customer’s appointed address, and the printing cost on size 4X6 is 1,500 won per photo, and on the size of a name card it is 1,800 per photo.
Following the photo mail service that began in August of last year, SK Telecom is providing all kinds of excellent photo related content, such as "photo mail", "photo album", and a digital photo printing service through "Photo Portal (photo.nate.com)" which started its service in January of this year. The company keeps emphasizing and enlarging its Digital Image business through strategic affiliations which were made in March of this year with Kodak Korea (kodakkorea.co.kr) and SK Global (www.skes.com).
