The certification was granted for KZ-610 model cellular handset by the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry and China Unicom.
Tests were made of 95 items such as network interconnectivity, electromagnetic waves, and static electricity before approval was granted.
The company plans to export 100 million US dollars worth of cellular handsets during this first year of advancement into China?s telecommunication market.
SK Teletech (www.skteletech.co.kr) announced that the company had acquired China?s first CDMA cellular handset certification (license for access to network). The certification was granted for KZ-610 cellular handset that is being exported to China. This model contains an UIM (subscriber authentication) Card Slot and its wireless data transmitting speed is 64Kbps. KZ-610 model is a cellular handset that is an upgrade in appearance and function over SKY IM-1100 that was launched in Korea.
The Ministry of Information Industry and China Unicom took charge of granting the certification by testing the basic functions of the handset for 4~8weeks. This test was designed to evaluate the usage functions in the Chinese CDMA network. They tested a total 95 items such as CDG (CDMA Development Group)-regulated electric wave characteristics, network interconnectivity, electromagnetic waves, the handset?s tolerance to static electricity, and tests of Chinese unique electric wave features, among others.
There was a worldwide total of 19 CDMA cellular handset manufacturers participating and competing, in the tests. These included Motorola in the U.S., SK Teletech, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics in Korea, HISENS and Hierl in China. SK Teletech became the first company to pass the test in China.
Based on this achievement, the company plans to export 100 million US dollars worth of cellular handsets to the China?s telecommunication market during this year.
