SK Telecom Announces Future Business Plans and Reorganization of the Company’s Structure.

Focused on early achievement of the goals of total sales of 8.4 trillion won and realizing amalgamative synergy
SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced the 2002 business plan, and made a statement regarding a large scale reorganization of the company structure as well as appointing and transferring personnel in preparation for amalgamation with Sinsegi Telecomm on the 15th.
The company structure has been changed from 4 departments, 37 offices/divisions, and 158 teams to 7 departments, 51 offices/divisions, and 226 teams due to amalgamation.
The main purpose of reorganizing the company structure is as follows:
First, in order to strengthen the strategic plan to reach the goal of effectively confronting the rapid changes in business environments, the company separated and expanded the Strategic Management Support Department into a Strategic Planning Department (head of Department, Shin Bae Kim) and Management Support Division (head of Department, Kwan Ho Son). A Corporate Relations Department (head of Department, Min Lae Cho) was newly formed to be fully responsible for IR, PR and external affairs.
Second, a Future Management Research Department (Director, Moon Soo Pyu - Holding two offices: President and Head of Research Department) was formed to research business issues and management techniques, and to nurture future talent and assess personnel capabilities in order to achieve the long and mid term goals of VISION 2010.
Third, the Internet business structure has been greatly expanded by reorganizing from the Wireless Internet Business Department to the Internet Business Department (head of division, Man Won Jung). New Portal Business Division was established in that department to follow the trend of a integrated wired and wireless Internet.
Fourth, Global Division and Teams were formed in each department of the Network, Marketing, and Internet Businesses to carry out successful overseas business expansions such as Vietnam and CDMA network constructions in Asia.
SK Telecom will make further director?s promotion and higher level personnel appointments in connection with the annual share holder?s meeting.
In addition to the changes in structure, the company also announced the 2002 Business Plan that will make SK Telecom a highly competitive global company that will reach the goal of total sales of 8.4 trillion won.

First, to reach the goal of total sales under conditions that the call rate was lowered 8.3%, the Marketing Business Department will create new potential customers in the wireless data market by promoting the outstanding qualities of NATE service. It will also have a plan for maximizing the customer’s benefits by acquiring an aggressive CRM base, and condensing marketing segments .
Second, the Internet Business Department will strive to
develop killer content, insure leadership in NATE Drive service, increase customers? benefits through mobile coupons, and strengthen competitiveness in the wired and wireless linked portal business. In addition, it will also build a strong and secure base of total financing and distribution businesses as well as activating the Payment business through the Moneta Card and Nemo Service in 2002.
Third, the Network Business Department will focus on maximizing network synergy on SK Sinsegi Telecomm, and maintaining superior quality products and services through further development of 3G technology and the best adaptability on the 1XEV-DO wireless network.
With the most remarkable business achievement in the nation, SK Telecom will also proceed at full speed on globalization by constructing the Asian CDMA Belt, emphasizing service in China, Cambodia, and Vietnam that will open the CDMA service this coming July .
