No one has access to the Call History Records except the approved employee who handles these records directly in the branch sales office.
Promoting the security campaign by assigning a customer information security course as a required subject for all employees.
SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) boosted the security of customer information by putting tight restrictions on all employees access to customer information, and assigning an education program of information security as a required subject for all employees.
The security system was completed at the end of October. Whenever there is the need to investigate, this system allows only the approved employee clear access to all log data such as logging time and identity of customer information that was previously entered by employees in sales and branch offices and customer centers.
The requirement for accessing of the customer information system has been upgraded and prohibits entry by anyone other than the approved employee regardless of their job position. Customer calling history that requires special security allows only the approved employee in the branch sales office accessing rights when requested by the customer and/or police investigation personnel.
SK Telecom changed the security system to give access to customer information only when SK Telecom employees input the customers cellular phone and personal identification numbers then match these two numbers.
In addition to boosting the security system, SK Telecom also provides a varied campaign of educational programs on information security to encourage alertness of mind to security issues.
The employees of branch and sales office have to take the customer information security course that is a required subject for all SK Telecom personnel. In order to alert them, and strengthen their responsibility, they have to put their signature on the contract of customer information security after finishing the course.
To overcome the limits of a one time educational course, beginning in November SK Telecom is instituting a VLS (Virtual Learning System) on customer information security. This course will be required for all employees.
Additionally, the educational video "The Campaign of Customer Information Security " is shown twice in the morning and afternoon for the whole month of November to emphasize customer information security.
On the last day of October, SK Telecom put the sticker "The Divulgence Of Customer Information Is Against The Law" on the all employees PC’s and telephones.
Bang Hyung, Lee, the head of SK Telecom Marketing Business Department commented, "The concerns regarding information privacy in the Mobile commerce environment demands a higher dimension of customer information security systems." Therefore "We keep giving continuing education and proceedings for an internal process of improvement." He added.
