SK Telecom, The Leader Of CDMA Technology In China, Is Showcasing Cutting-edge Technologies Using The CDMA2000 Network At The PT/Wireless & Networks Comm. China 2001 In Beijing.
2001.10.22 PrintDuring the exhibition SK Telecom will introduce its stable CDMA service technology to China which is about to adopt CDMA mobile communications system.
A variety of wireless Internet services such as Video-phone, VOD, MOD, and m-Commerce among others will be demonstrated.
The company will also hold a seminar regarding wireless Internet and m-Commerce.

SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced its participation in the ?PT/Wireless & Networks Comm China 2001 (hereinafter referred to as ?PT/Wireless & Networks 2001?)? which would be held in Beijing from October 23 to 27. At the exposition the company will install a CDMA2000 network and directly demonstrate advanced wireless communications services.
PT/Wireless & Networks 2001,will be the biggest telecommunications event ever held in China. It will be held under the sponsorship of China?s major telecommunications companies, and promoted by the Chinese government. About 400 companies in 20 countries will take part in this exposition.
SK Telecom has prepared 584 cub. yds. of booth in Hall 1A which is located in the center of the 8 halls of the exhibition center. The company will demonstrate a wide range of wireless Internet services categorized as multimedia, entertainment, and m-Commerce. In addition, a Video-phone system will be installed so that visitors can directly enjoy a trial performance.
Besides participating in the exposition, SK Telecom will actively carry out a variety of PR activities to showcase the excellence of the cutting-edge wireless Internet technologies based on CDMA. These activities are designed to be of interest to people involved with China?s information and communication fields.
On October 24, Joon-Won Choi, a researcher at SK Telecom, will hold a seminar based on ?m-Commerce Platform Planning? for Chinese and overseas parties concerned with the telecommunications industry. On the following day, Hyun-Oh Yoo, head of the Wireless Internet Business Strategy Division of SK Telecom, and Ki-Joong Jung, a researcher at SK Telecom, will also respectively give seminars on the subjects of ?Region-based Services? and ?Current Status and
Future Prospects for Korea?s Wireless Internet".
In this exposition, SK Telecom will implement its strategy called ?WITH(Wireless Internet Telecommunication for Humans) SK Telecom?, focusing on CDMA2000 and wireless Internet services which are the issues of greatest importance in China?s current telecommunications market. In this regard the company will offer solutions that will greatly increase the value of the existing voice-oriented cellular phone network in China?s mobile communications industry. Moreover, SK Telecom will further build its corporate image as a world-class integrated information and communication company by presenting its vision of the future of mobile communications services at this exposition. On October 13, the company, together with China Unicom in Shanghai successfully completed the first demonstration of CDMA2000 1x services in China.
