SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced that on August 24, Tran Duc Luong, the Head of State of Vietnam, his esteemed wife and his delegation visited SK Telecom’s Network R&D Center in Boondang City where they were given an explanation of Code Division Multiple Access2000 1X (CDMA2000 1X) technology.

Other than the Head of State of Vietnam, and his esteemed wife, the delegation consisted of a group of 90 people, which included Cabinet members, public and private enterprise representatives and press corps members. Kil-seung Son, chairman and CEO of SK Telecom, led them to SK Telecom?s Network R&D Center and outlined SK Telecom?s general profile and its CDMA business operations in Vietnam. In addition, SK Telecom engineers demonstrated to them the n.TOP wireless data service with moving image transmission using CDMA2000 1X technology.

At a closed session, Kil-seung Son, chairman and CEO of SK Telecom had a pleasant and productive talk with Tran Duc Luong, the Head of State of Vietnam. During the meeting, he extended his deep appreciation for the Vietnamese government?s approval of SK Telecom?s investment in the CDMA service business in Vietnam. He also stated that using its world?s best CDMA operating expertise and cutting-edge technology, SK Telecom would make every effort to contribute to the development of Vietnamese information and communications infrastructure.
